thoughts right now

anyone catch the old Tori Amos lyrics? Ahh…you youngins!

I’ve started to prepare for show season now that things are lining up. The spring and summer look to be very busy if I get into everything I applied for, keep your fingers crossed for me!

One month from now is when this will all come into fruition…it seems so far away and I want to procrastinate but I really shouldn’t be. There are goals I need to set for myself, mostly financial ones…I keep writing down all of my debt and while its not totally overwhelming it could get that way very quickly if I don’t start budgeting. Luckily we got some money from our wedding so I have a little room to play around but its funny; its more overwhelming for me to HAVE this money than to not. What should I put it towards? It would be good to sit on the money but on the other hand it would be better to pay stuff off…what to do, what to do.

I joined two teams on Etsy hoping to force myself to learn to network a little better…many of my friends are crafters but they’re not that close to me, logistically, so it makes sense to try to create a more localized group of friends I can connect with easier…the hardest part is overcoming my shyness. I never realized how shy I was until I got into crafting…the selling, the networking, it’s all so foreign to me. I’ve had to step out of my comfort zone….wayyyy out of my comfort zone. It’s good but it’s a continual process.

Some goals for this year:

– Make $1500 at atleast one show

– Reduce debt in half (again I don’t have a lot of debt so it won’t be that hard, but it’s still hard!)

– 150 sales on etsy

– 6 new wholesale accounts

Stay tuned to watch me cross stuff off of my list!
